Nurture Your Soul 💫

Reconcile with your darkness to become yourself

Life is challenging, even in the best of times. The thing is, much of the challenge is self-inflicted.

We avoid setting boundaries because we fear conflict.

We struggle to do what we know is good for us (and to stop doing what’s bad for us) because we love what hurts us.

We hold ourselves back from chasing our dreams because we’re afraid of failure and rejection.

These are examples of “the darkness of our souls.”

Our fears, addictions, and ignorance all live in an abyss inside our our souls; or, put another way, in our minds.

Our job as humans is to bring what lurks in darkness to light, and to transform our flaws into strengths with directed practice.

This is true self-care. 🧘🏽‍♂️

Quote Of The Week

“Nurture the darkness of your soul until you become whole.” — Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching

Strange Fact

Mindfulness meditation actually transforms your brain by shrinking your amygdala (the source of your instinctual “fight or flight” response) and growing your prefrontal cortex (the judgement and decision center in your brain).

This is proof that you become what you do: when you practice mindfulness, you become more mindful, wise, and self-controlled!
